Vacation!

Well we had a great time on vacation! We stopped in Leavenworth on the way to Chelan, very neat town. They seem to have a city ordinance that required them to keep a Bavarian theme on all their commercial buildings. We stopped at the gingerbread house and the kids each got a cookie. Emily decided on a butterfly gingerbread cookie (no surprise) and Cooper picked out a Train shaped sugar cookie!

We also checked out the Nutcracker Museum...BIG hit with Tony. I thought he would like it. I read on their website that they house well over 5,000 nutcrackers but didn't really realize what the true amount would look like until we got there. Tony was in heaven. They literally have two apartments full of showcases with all the nutcrackers. I wasn't allowed to take photos of the ones behind the glass but this picture can give you a little bit of an idea. This shows only 1 of the 4 long rows double sided of nutcrackers.Cooper in awe of the size of some of them!

We stayed in a 1930's build cottage that was built apon a little and turned into a three bedroom two bath. The room T and I stayed in was called a summer room. It had four large windows with just screens in them. Very neet, cool temperature (which is perfect for us) and it was great to hear the lake all night.

Emily, Cooper and their friend stayed ina room together, Cooper was in his pack-n-play "tent" and Emily slept in her princess tent in her sleeping back, and their friend slept on the queen bed all by herself! They did really great.

The view from our deck!

The cabin on the top/center of the picture is the one that we were staying at! I believe the cabin right below us in the center is rented (yearly) but an older couple that were very nice. They have Mickey and Minny mouse all around their cabin. The beaches had a lot of driftwood on them but it was still nice to have the sand for the kids to play in.

No surprise! Cooper was the first one to venture deep into the water. The neat thing about the beach is it went a long way out before it got deep. He has so much fun scooping up the floating wood!

One of the best parts about where we stayed (which will remain a very well kept secret) was the Heated pool! And the "heated pool" was not just talk...it was really warm! We spent long hours in the pool with the kids. Emily did awesome in the pool. She learned how to wear her life jacket and use a noodle to steady herself. She spent most of the time moving/kicking herself around the pool by herself. She also enjoyed playing "Humpty Dumpy" off the side of the pool. This is when she learned how to swim alone with the life jacket. {who knew this would be such a great learning experience for Emily} She can now jump into water with a life jacket on and get out with no help! Cooper also had a wonderful time in the water. He espcially loved to jump in. Tony had a great time relaxing in the pool and
I was even able to get a few dive off into the deep end which was nice.

After the kids went down each night we got to play some games and just relax with some good friends. Grilled some steak and just relaxed. It was wonderful to have a vacation where we literally just relaxed almost the whole time. We also went out to eat at a neat little diner in Chelan for breakfast the morning we left. Hit a little traffic on the way home and found out halfway home that Emily had an accident and got the whole seat soaking wet. OY! She felt so bad for doing it but we forgot to have her go before we left and she fell asleep! Luckly we will be able to get the seat cleaned at T's work as it really, really needs it!
